roadmap 2026 → 2030
The workshop of 2030
Promises that will never change
Knowledge stays free
Reading the collective knowledge will never cost money. Not now, not at scale, not ever. Sustainability will come from optional supporter tiers and services — never from a paywall on facts.
Every fact has a face
No orphan knowledge. Every fix, time and part equivalence carries its author, its vehicle, its confirmations and its timestamp — enforced by the database itself, not by policy.
Reputation is earned on cars, not on posts
Points exist only when another mechanic confirms your fix worked on their vehicle. Votes, activity and popularity are worth exactly zero.
AI is a librarian, never a diagnostician
It searches, links, translates and transcribes. It will never invent a probable cause, a plausible torque spec or a generated part diagram presented as fact.
The data belongs to the mechanics
ODbL license, full export, any time. Delete your account and your name goes away — the knowledge you gave the commons stays, anonymized, forever useful.
Generated images are decoration, not documentation
Every AI-generated visual on this site is marked 'illustrative'. Technical truth comes only from mechanics.
Where this is going
Trust core + Q&A
Cases, answers, acceptance, confirmations, reputation with ring-detection audit. Four languages, async local translation.
Economic layer
Real times vs book times (the negotiation weapon), part equivalences with quality reports, ADAS/EV job routing with verified equipment badges.
Capture
Photo of a tester screen → DTC codes. Voice → case description, in your language. Zero keyboard on the main flow.
Garage Mode
Full-screen, voice-first, readable from two meters. Phone on the bench, hands on the car.
Search that understands symptoms
Describe it freely in Romanian, find the case written in German. Local embeddings, no cloud dependency.
Real niches, one at a time
EA288 diesel first. Then the next engine family the founders choose. Depth before width, always.
OEM access navigator
SERMI, security gateways, per-brand access procedures — mapped by the community, for the community.
The open standard
This design language, this trust model and this data schema published as the reference other platforms copy. Being copied is the win condition.
Forged Glass — the design language (open, like the data)
Industrial metal meets liquid glass. Built for gloved hands, sunlit screens and 4G in a concrete garage — then made beautiful, in that order. Amber is not a color here: it is the heat signature of trust. Every rule below is free to copy. A standard only becomes a standard when others use it.
amber = trust
data = engraved
confirmations = rings
gloves first
budget: 320px-first · AA+ contrast · <150KB/image · Lighthouse ≥85 · glass never under critical text
This page is a commitment, not a pitch. Hold us to it.
