Probable causes

  • Ignition coil A primary/secondary circuit fault
  • failed COP coil
  • wiring open/short to coil
  • ECM driver fault

Diagnostic steps

  1. Swap ignition coil from cyl 1 - if fault moves, replace coil.
  2. Check coil primary resistance (~0.5-2 ohm).
  3. Check wiring to coil.
  4. Replace coil.
