Symptoms
- ABS/VSC warning lights illuminated
- loss of ABS and stability control operation
- possible starting or electrical issues if the underlying power supply problem is severe.
Probable causes
- Weak or low 12V battery (common)
- blown fuse or defective IG2 relay
- faulty ignition switch
- damaged wiring or connectors in the IG2 circuit
- corroded or loose connections
- charging system (alternator) problems.
Diagnostic steps
- Test the 12V battery condition and charging system before replacing any parts.
- Check the fuses and the IG2 relay feeding the skid control ECU.
- Inspect the IG2 circuit wiring and connectors for damage, corrosion, and loose pins.
- With a multimeter, verify continuity and voltage on the IG2 circuit to the skid control ECU.
- Test the ignition switch and power relay operation.
- Repair the faulty power feed, clear codes, and confirm the code does not return.
