When accelerating consistently above ~3000 rpm, the pressure in the fuel rail drops below what is required, and the engine malfunctions. The diesel filter was recently replaced. At idle, everything seems normal.

Documented troubleshooting procedure: (1) low-pressure supply – measure the pre-supply pressure UNDER load, not just at idle (a worn pump in the tank will fail precisely under high flow); (2) the pressure/flow regulating valve on the high-pressure pump – its wear causes exactly the symptom of "good at idle, fails under load"; (3) the filter – even if new, a source of contaminated diesel can clog it quickly; also check for any air in the circuit; (4) the high-pressure pump – the last suspect, after excluding the above; checking the return flow of the injectors separates a weak pump from injectors that return excessive fuel.
